To my student

Oh what have I done?
I have broken her heart into a thousand, may be a million pieces...
She wanted me to say it was great but I couldn't
That wouldn't have been honest of me
I've shattered her expectations
And the disappointment I see in her face makes me want to take it all back
but I cant
Its said;
and the truth sometimes does hurt
It will hurt now but some day you will see what I did not see.
You will realize that while I was saying it was not good enough,
 I was pushing you to do better
and that you will reach your full potential and go beyond.

You will not see it today, but some day somewhere you will know.
That what I told you, did help you grow!
In more ways than you will ever know...
