Bullying

Knowingly or unknowingly we are all, at one time or the other bullied by our friends, colleagues, siblings and may be even teachers and parents. The fact is, bullying may never be completely avoidable because many victims hardly even report it. There may however be some measures that we can take to mitigate the risk of being bullied.

Cyber-bullying can be far worse

With the coming of the internet, smart phones and group gaming, bullies have gained access to even more channels to trap their victims on. Many children access social networking sites that make their bullying problem an even more public affair. Many children today walk around with low self esteem and are not willing to say anything to anyone because they are afraid of being embarrassed by their peers online. So how can we control it?

Parents and teachers have a responsibility to create awareness of bullying and the problems caused by it. There are several very good resources online for adults to self educate.
