No, We don't get fancy badges and trophies. We are not held in great regard by most. We don't get paid much. We don't save lives. No fancy appraisals and awards. Yet we do one of the most important jobs in this world - Educating the next generation!
Yes we are educators! Our satisfaction does not come from lavish life styles or warm welcoming city sky line offices in high rise buildings. It certainly does not come from our perks and pay checks. Our satisfaction comes from the smiles on the faces of the children we teach. It comes from the past students who look back at us with grateful eyes and say thank you.
The gratification is beyond words and we do it whole heatedly with a true passion for it. Educating is a profession that is sadly dying. With the coming of online schools, youtube and robot technology, teachers and educators like hard copy books will soon be gone. A person who loves teaching will always be a teacher at heart. They will always love making a positive difference in a student's life! There is so much that depends on them!
