I challenge every public school out there... Certification does not maketh a great teacher.... in fact it has nothing to do with the ability to teach. Yes, we need training. We need experience. We need motivation but a piece of paper does not prove anything. At the end of the day, can you connect with a student? Can you help them learn - that's all that counts.
